trailing arm lengths

hi all

í'm going to put some gq diffs under a hilux i'm going to build the setup will be 3 link + penhard front and 4 link rear, ok my question is will it drive good road with long trailing arms in the front?, this is the lengths im think runing bottems (front & back) 1000mm and around 900mm tops (front & back) is this a good setup or not

Do you have any idea on the fundamnetals of link suspension systems? If not start reading!

If you are going GQ diffs, why not run the factory link setup? Pretty sure they run a 5-link in the rear and radius arm setup in the front (could be wrong though) and you wont have to muck around making up links/mounting brackets, working out ic as and other factors that influence suspension geometry.

But hey, if you're hellbent on running 4-link rear and 3-link +p/hard front then go for it.

same suspension on different vehicles will react different

different weights wheelbase cog and other factors determine it

link length is only a small factor in the way rig will handle

do some reading

Have a look at the Petersons 4x4 web site they did a very good 4 link basics artical.
The only problem i have found reading up on suspention. the more you know. the more you realise you have to learn to get it right.

Never a truer word was spoken, I started researching about six months ago and Im still in the planning stage due to constant new information and re-learning of old info. Im at the point where Im about to throw the book away and just start building :armsup:
