Hi guys,
I own a 3F powered cruiser, mostly runs LPG, but still use petrol.
Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good shop in brisbane to have my carby rebuilt or perhaps just tuned at?
As I'm not sure wether it needs a rebuild or just a tune.
Also I was hoping that the shop would be reasonably priced too.
Thanks

There's a dude down at Eight Mile Plains called Brian Dillon. He runs the Dillon Car Clinic. He's pretty good. However he'll slug you extra if the vhicle is modified. He's pretty awesome with diagnostics though.

Dont take any 4wd you value near this dude, i just got totally ripped by him i took my carby to him, he diagnosed it allright charged me a mint, but fix it he didnt, had to be towed back twice. I got fed up took it elsewhere and they found all the vacuum lines were fitted wrong, fuel mix screw was 18 turns out of adjustment... yes thats right 18, the screw was nearly falling out! .

Hi Bundy79
Where did you end up going?
I just booked in to go there next week..
I'd rather not waste my time if there's somewhere better.
Thanks

I don't think I'll need to be taking it anywhere to get fixed.
I had the sudden urge to check the plugs, as I paid a shop on the northside of brissy to replace them when I recently had it tuned.
It came back running even worse than before
upon inspecting the plugs its looks like they have stuck some old plugs in, they aren't the normal part number I usually use - same brand but not the same part number.
And the center electrode had a V shaped grove burnt into it - I guess this indicates they are old?
Either way, a new set of plugs and it idles and runs, even starts on petrol doesn't miss a beat.
I guess I'll just drive it and see if its stays running fine.
Save myself being shafted by Dillions car clinic hopefully
Thanks everyone for their help.
Matt
