do all comp trucks have to be regd

just got an mq patrol off a mate and want to turn into a serious offroader come comp truck the problem is i live in QLD.second problem is i've already got four regos that i have to pay and can't really afford another rego, i was going to trailer this anyway so hence the question what comps can you enter without rego and whats the norm with 4x4 parks .
i was thinking of turning it into a buggy and want to know is theres any rules or specs on rollcages etc to compete and where do i get these.
sorry for silly questions but converting from speedway where theres rules after rules and some guide would be a great help :oops:

search for ccda, they are the governing body of most event's ie. cams

decide what comps you want to enter and build you car to suit.

If you want to go nuts, turn it into a Pro-Mod buggy (always wanted to see an MQ pro-mod), i.e full chassis'd still. Or a truggy, and compete it in WERock. But many events still require rego...

found the site just can't open files cause i don't have adobe installed

the pro mod buggy sound a good idea wanting to stick to something like the blue rover full body/chassis but chopped to buggery :armsup:

yeah thats the one still how does he keep rego on it, is that rego in QLD
just loaded adobe and looked at the ccda site good info lots to read, yet to choose what class to run (looks like it would be more of a buggy cause of being unregisterd)have to read all the specs ;)

Many events require rego for the third party insurance
The idea is if you somebody over they will have somewhere to claim

Crap really cause what insurance company will ever pay out third party in such an instance (competition on private property)

Interesting (alarming) thing is if you read the fine print for most comps you are not insured whilst actually on competition stages. The second you cross the start line your on your own.

Firstly work out what comps you want to compete in and then check the requirements of those comps. The CCDA does provide a backbone set of rules for many comps however Dave Metcalf doesn't use them, so building the ccda spec might not be right for you.

Vehcile reg is required because there are many instances during a competition where the vehicle is being driven (both on private and public land) that is not the competition stage. e.g. transport legs. In those circumstances in Vic it becomes a TAC claim regardless of the state the vehicle was registered in.

thats why you get extended third party of your own for an event. it will cover you if you hurt someone or someone elses property. dave metcalfe i think has an insurance policy that covers himself if anyone gets hurt during the comp. depends what you want you can get.

CCDA card give you some sort of insurance. Without ccda if you flick a stone at a spectator it could cost you big dollars!!!

im not sure about other states, but in tas you can get an RV rego (restricted vehicle rego) that you just fill out the paperwork and hand it to them and you have it, no goin over pits, no engineering, no nothing. its for vehicles like ATVs and farm vehicle that either dont go onroad or are very limited in there onroad use.
our rover crews VW has one, coz there is now known way in hell you could register a VW Beetle with 35" tractor treads with a normal rego :D

They had this in Qld but a loong time ago no such thing existis now would be sweet if it did

they still have farm use rego. tractors that are safe to use on road still get regoed all the time, they have a C to start the plate.

Don't bobcats need rego for extended road use.All the road work ones are, just something i noticed recently.

there is a limited use redgo for bobcats etc but i don't think the fourby would get it be sweet if it could
i'm not sure but i think theres a recreational vehicle redgo for atv(quad bikes) jet skis can anyone confirm this :?:
