hi just did the usual service on my td42 oil an filters, started her checked for any leaks around sump bolt an filters none there sweet,

then went out the back to put some tools away an when i come back about 1-2 mins there was all my oil on the ground under the car(DOH)

looks like it came from the oil relef valve, maybe (turned off the truck as quick as i could an didn't look exactly were it came from) anybody had this happen to them or anybody know why this would happen it's stumped me.

would it be the oil pump relief valve ,
what does this do?
why would this suddenly happen?
any help would be great

i've done about 5 service's on the old girl with no problems before.

thanks guys an girls mick.

yer checked filters no second rubber,,,
the leak appears to come from the little valve under the filters towards the front,it's nearlly under the oil pressure sender it was being pushed out under pressure not so much just leaking as it's not leaking now but only when running?

any ideas would help,

as i thought in my first post the "oil relief valve" is on the other side of block so can't be that, what is the valve under the oil pressure sender unit called.
the valve is part of the oil cooler body that the filters screw onto.

thanks mick.

Without checking I think its a anti drain back valve
