Hi Guys, I am in need of some help. I have purchased a softtop pajero, model- Q-V24C NDF with a 4d56 diesel. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this model as i cannot find any info on it except for the manufactors specs, I want to know, does this model have diff locks? I know it has a central diff lock as eveident of the gears(4LLc) but was wondering if it has front or rears, i think it may have as there are vacuum lines & wires running to both diffs and there is a switch inside the cabin marked R/D lock but i am not sure. The thing is there seems to be a problem with the electrics as the central diff lock won't engage and it appears as if someone has had a go at rewiring the solenoids and if it has diff locks they are not :? engaging. Does anyone know where i can get a service manual or wiring diagram from?? Any info on this would be great!! Cheers.

the imports commonly have the rear difflocks. mine does.

if it isnt engaging, is the light coming on the dahs to indicate it is?

or does it flash or not come on at all?

i would check the vac lines are clear, otherwise someone may have sold the rear locker. but then u would expect they would sell the compressor/switches. check the rear end of the car inside the cabin behind the trim for the compressor. if thats missing, id hazzard a guys someones removed the locker :P

The cenre diff lo0ck is mechanical so if it's not locking then there is another problem - Do you know for sure it is not engaging?

I'd say with you rear locker - it won't lock unless your centre diff is locked. So I'm thinking since your lights are all mucked up then it's not letting it go in. If there is an air ling going in the side of the diff housing and a bit of wiring then you will stilll have the locker. Don't confuse the air line with the breather.

It won't ahve a front lock unless it is aftermarket. Any auto store will get you are Haynes or gregorys manual.

Im assuming its a gen2 paj. The gen1 (mines 4d56), requires you to reverse approx 5m to engage. Give it a shot ?? :)

And as NJV6 said the Haines or Gregorys manual is a good investment.
$40-$55 on ebay.

also it must be in 4wd for the diff lock to work.

found the diff lock pump not getting any power to the pump.
tried reversing still nothing would engage, just wondering if any one has a wiring diagram for this car.

is the dash showing it is in 4wd mode?

check the wiring to the difflock pump, try to force it to start, id expect it would be a predictable wiring format.

the reversing thing shouldnt affect the pump getting power, it should help it properly engage.

found the problem to be the swithches on the tranfer and some vacuum soledoids, some one who had the car before my mate had chopped and changed all the wiring, swaped it all and checked it all workes fine now.
thanks for all the help.
