Question,

I just picked up a 2nd s[are for a Simpson trip but the tyre is on a Toyota 6 stud rim. The centre of the rim edging has little steps which I'm not sure about

What is the general rule of thumb about fitting Toyota ($ h i t ) rims on a GU.

I did some measurments and worst case I'll grind the knotches off if I need to use it. That is of course if it doesnt fit

Mate paid $150 for a brand new 33" BFG AT tyre and the rim.

It's my 6th wheel so all going well won't have to use. I like my Nissans and just having a dig a yotas.

PS leave tomorra for the Simpson :D

no idea what cruiser it came off, but looks older style so maybe 60 series, and prob gxl?

the steps or notches in the rim would be for the wheel caps, goes over the axle where it bolts to the hub. the notches are for the metal clips to stop the covers coming off. this is how the 80 series ones work anyway

Notches in rim are there to fit over the 'ribs' in the GU bearing hub.
Aftermarket Cruiser rims need about 1mm gound out to fit properly on to GQ/GU.

this is purely academic as Swerve would have left already

but why would there be notches in a Toyota rim to fit a Nissan gu hub?

good luck mate, you might find it fits on the front and not the rear, in which case, if you get two rear flats, swap a front onto the rear and use it on your front...

ya dig.

Got two sets of 60 rims given to me. Suppose to be OEM and they don't have any notches on them - just lots of rust. :D One set will go for trailer rims and tires - cause they got decent 31" tread on them and the others will go for my winter tires.
