Well, if anyone went to Willowglen you could back up that statement.

We drove a Vitara with IFS and 31" tyres to 6th place :D

It has a 6" Calmini Kit, Anvil front diff, air locker in the front and lockrite in the back, thats it.

We didnt break anything not even a CV.

The only thing that stopped us was the mud, and going 5th last didn't help that :bad-words: (some big holes were dug by then)

In conclusion IFS rocks and I think that SAS is for people that cant drive!!! (or maybe I am just stoked about the result)

I didn't get any pics personally, not while you are in it. Just waiting on some mates for those. But we made it in a few vids.

As I read it .. "I spent heaps on my IFS vit, and am pleasently suprised that it didnt break running 31's" :D

Still thats a bloody good effort.

It still worked out cheaper to run the Anvil than to re-engineer the whole car and make a front end.

The car is fully engineered as driven in the event, which is more that what can be said about most of the other trucks/tractors :?

And did you know that tyres size is a way people compensate for other size issues :D

well done but you'll need to change your avatar then, no point pimping a SAS Vitara when your IFS one works :D

Its all true!

In Canberra you can't lift a car more that 6" in total (including tyres) even with a eng cert.

I might have to start putting turbos on pulsars
Sorry to be picky, you say that your car is fully engineered as driven in the event, but you're not registered based on what you said in another thread.

6" lift + your tyres, does this put you into the "tractor" class?

Well done by the way. 6th in any car is a respectable place.

Yea the 150mm law is new as of last year I think. Under the new law it would have to run stock tyres to get a Eng cert.

As this car was done before that law was introduced the old report still stands, so if it was to be pulled over by the RTA it is road legal as the 31" tyres are on the report, part of the reason to stay with the IFS.

The new law does suck, if you think about it 2" springs, 2" body, add tyres and thats it your done.
