Have a turbo 700 behind my v6 and want to fit a temp gauge for the auto transmission.
Would like to know where people fit there temp sensor?
Read somewhere about fitting it in the pressure test port, swap the bung for the sender?
Any ideas.
Cheers
Matt

I fit the temp sender unit in the front of the pan, left of centre

T it inline before your auto tranmisson cooler. hoping you have one if you dont would def think about it if your going 2 tow or do any offroading mate.

Wanted to put it in the pan, but it's not due for an oil change.
Have an auto cooler, large external one.
Hey big lux do you have any pics of this set up?
Liked the idea of just srewing the sender in a hole already there
Thanks for the ideas.

my auto guy said to put it in the return line from the cooler, it was something to do with the rear bearing..... thats for a C4 anyway

What sort of temperature range are we talking about ?
Whats "normal" and "too hot" ?

Complete Trans temp kit here,

I just got one, am yet to fit it though. Was $245 or something around there from memory. Comes with everything you need.
Says that 150c is the highest you want to go temp wise and if it gets that hot you should pull over and let the car cool down.

Good link. Like the idea of the sender at the hottest point.
Wasn't too sure of max auto trans temps, but you can usually buy a gauge to suit auto temps, oil temps etc.
