if you have a choice what rim size to put on, what would be better option?
i have 32 x 15 now and can get good 33x16 tyres so will need to get 16" rims, the 32's need to be replaced, would i be better of buying rims, or sticking with the 15's and spending more on tyres....(titearse)

16" sunraysias are only about $50-$60 each. if you scabbed around you might be able to pick some up second hand

I like the idea of 16" wheels because the side wall of the tyre is shorter. Having said that I've got 15" because the tyres and wheels are cheaper. I priced 16x8 wheels a couple of months ago. They were around the $100 mark.

I would keep on 15 unless you have plans to buy a tire ( huge ) that come only in other wheel ..

In my case .. I love the 15" look .. but now I love the BFG Crawlers looks but to buy it in 39" i need to upgrade to 17" wheel .. if I found a tire with 15" wheel ( BFG 39" ? ) I keep my 15 inch ..

16's offer more clearance/airflow around brakes etc, and less sidewall to get staked, but rims are worth $100-120ea. Tyres are also dearer.

I looked into this a little a few months back. I thought I could just get some 16x8 wheels off a LC80 or a GU Patrol 2nd hand, but the offsets are different for a 60 series. I think 60s need 90mm backspace maximum, whereas the LC80 and the GU standard wheels have 100mm.

I tried GU rims several years ago, no go. Not sure bout 80 rims.

Sixty's Guy,
yeah mate, traded the ol girl in for a 06 105series.....still kicking myself. The new Toy is nice and comfy, but not as good as a strong 60.
And the arse on it is bloody HUGE!!!!

The project 60 is still in the shed awaiting an engine, but I stripped a lot off the ol girl which will end up on that.

Bugger mate. That is one of my favourite 60s that I have seen.
