ln65 weird oil leak

i have a 88 ln65 2.4 diesel 5spd
and has been losing oil for last week i got under it and theres oil around the rubber boot on bellhousing where clutch fork goes in pulling the boot back the inside of the boot is covered as well this had better not be rear main any ideas or similar experiances and its definitly engine oil

If it looks like it's been thrown out/onto the rubber boot the only way oil will get in there is rear main. 99% sure box out clutch and flywheel off and it's just a lip seal should only cost around 20 bucks for seal but bit of a job and while it's out you might find it oil soaked the clutch, Is it slipping at all. This will move the price up a bit I always recomend/do rea mains while clutches are being done few extra bucks saves a heap of labour in long run

i only done the clutch six months ago glad to hear rear main is an easy job had commonodore many years back and done rear main nearly killed me on apprentice wages the oil is definately in the bellhousing i had to pry the rubber back and its very well coated on inside, and outside oil is only on the bottom of the boot

Yeah if you done the clutch yourself it's justa case of the same and drop flywheel off and i'd do it soon so it don't soak the clutch Just one thing to remember don't scratch the surface where the seal runs on the crank it'll just keep pissing out.
