G'day,
Wasn't too sure what section to put this in but anyway...
Just looking for a good auto elec in the eastern suburbs to rebuild my bosch alternator off my patrol.
Thanks, Calvin

What's wrong with it? If it's just brushes you can do it yourself for $20.
Bearings don't cost much either... just depends.

The thing seized so i'm guessing its bearing?
Tried to pull it apart, undone all of the bolts and trying to slip off one end but i think there are still some bolts i'm missing or something. its a 120A one so i don't want to stuff it up and ruin the things...

Fair enough, I would want a 120A alternator well looked after too.
I got some good help getting parts from a guy in Barry Rd Bayswater, but he didn't actually do any work for me so I don't know if he's cheap or not.

I hope thats not the same guy who tried to tell me the fluctuation in voltage after he has supposededly rebuilt my alternator was because the belt and pulleys were worn causing the voltage to fluctuate. I wonder how he is still in business treating the public like complete idiots. I suspect all he did to my alternator was give it a coat of paint and charge me for a rebuild. I took it elsewhere and they told me it was putting out ac current.

Haha, not sure. I just got him to order some parts in for me. I have never really needed an auto elec other than for that.

I've had dealings with Eny auto electrical in Roberna St., Moorabbin.
Knows his stuff and is thorough. Fair on price, not cheap but not expensive. But at least you know the job's done right.

Yep I'm with christover - Croydon Auto Elec's. I think it is Rose Lane but is just around the corner from BDA and they are more competitive with their pricing.

I tripple that !!!!!
I was just talking to a mate the other day about him. He is unbelievable. I have had a lot of work done by him -- he is "honest" ( yes, there is one ) he dosnt charge like a Wounded Bull and he knows his stuff.
I travel a fair distance to go to him, but its worth it.
Talk to anyone around the traps and he is the Auto Elec of choice in the East .
