but you said if you get a good offer.. What in your mind is a "good offer"?? Then people know if they are on the same wavelength as you. You must have a price in mind.

OK!

Someone said $15000 so I would probly sell it for that. Or any offers over that.
Not trying to start any arguments here

I understand what youre saying hoonz and i believe you maybe you should have held out longer for the right buyer cause i think your rig is worth more than you got. But im not sure you understand that wagons are dime a dozen but xtra cabs are rare.

With the price of GU's dropping like a brides nighty, GQ's arent dropping just as quick :( sad fact lately.

Well i wont waste your time or mine then. I think your kidding yourself if you want $15k for a pre 90's anything. I could get a 2.8GU for less money and be better off and dont try and say that a carby TB42 is a better engine, they are both as crap as eachother

just sold a 4.2 carb 1989 extra cab 4" lift 2" body custom tray with 3mm ally cheacker floor and twin hoop cds roll bar, custom front Hi mount bar, sliders n side rails, rear spring mount brace kit, new tyres all blue plated $5500 with lockers you could expect a bit more.
Best of luck getting over $10k, I'd aim for $8k

I think for an 88 with all the goodies putting 10kono is a fair call. I got a few PM's and a couple of phones calls from interested people for my shorty with a similar price, it was turbo diesel though and the day after I advertised it was stolen. Which leads be to believe that If you advertise around here with pics it is just sketchy, I think there are a lot of really dodgey folk lurking amongst our forum.

It is a hard call because you will never make your money back, you will also end up spending more on it by keeping it. I do think $15000 for an 88 petrol is a bit steep, who knows someone might see the value in it.

Thanks for the input guys its all been helpful, as it is not for sale yet i have a little more work to do. And we dont have to sell it at all but was just thinkin about so I could buy my wife a car but for the moment she can drive my GU wagon or walk as LudaCris said. If we do deside to sell after all It wont be till christmas at least. It may not be worth as much as I would like but that was the reason behind this post now I have an idea "what its worth" So thanks again its been helpful.

Just to add i got a
Shorty GQ 89, cheezy rear, sliders, OE winch bar, 2+2" lift few other bits n pieces for 6k with 234k on the clock and it was a diesel 4.2

under 10 is realistic, for 15 i could get a cheapy and build it up

I would say advertise for about 14k and accept something in the way of $12-13k if you want to sell. If your happy to wait until someone with more money than sense comes along then advertise for what you think it's worth.
