Mcnamara 30 spline axles

Post by quaddrive »

Hi,

Am part way throught the toy conversion and just recieved my rear axleshafts.
I machined the spindles to clear the standard 80 series axleshaft splines...
I get the McNamara axles and they are 20thou larger diameter in the splined area..... It is just the Mcnamara splines are complete whereas the tojo ones have the very tips machined off.
There is not a lot of meat left in the spindles where the flat section is for the lock washer... is this a problem in practice or do I have some unususally thin spindles?

Cheers in advance
When all else fails use full noise!!!

The flats on mine were thin after machining.
