Can anyone suggest a good place to get myself a 1.6L carbie engine? I'm thinking its about time the old zook got an upgrade

Recon'd would be preferred, some place in NSW if possible.

Good luck, hate to burst your bubble but their are not many around these days. I work for a Japanese parts importer and they are virtually non existant out of Japan. We have just put together a container this week and we could not find any of these engines at all. We can still manage to find some of the 16V engines and will also have a G16 16V Vitara half cut in this next shipment.

just take all the computer gear off and either find a 8valve carbie vitara head or bolt the 1.3 head on with some extractors!!

Suzisport offer a 1.6 short motor for $950 and they do an adaptor kit for $350 so i'm thinking about going for that

oops, posted twice. Gorram net.

The kit doesn't require a bodylift either :)

ok, they're pretty decent from what i've heard. I'll give them a bush.

In terms of the adaptor kit, is there a better place than suzisport? I like that their kit doesn't require a bodylift

I recently fitted a g16b block to a g13ba head in a coily sierra used g16a timing belt, 1.3 inlet and exhaust manifolds and carby modified the sump and pickup etc, and used benT adaptor kit ($200) I didn't use a bodylift the top of the intake did touch the hood linner but was only rubbing. engine went fantastic! gave it back to the owner (a mate) 3 days later it was hit in the front and writen off! very sad but if I did it again I would find a block only and work from there and benT's kit was awsome!
there is a 1.6 block on ebay now looks a bit (how ya going) but for 100 bucks good starting point on a budget
