Group Buy: Sierra Transfer Case Twin Sticks

by Bazooka
I thought I had better start a new thread to get interest from anyone looking for or wanting a twin stick setup for their Sierra transfer case.
Below is a picture of what the setup will look like;
And this is what it should look like installed;
Now this is not a simple bolt in modification. The transfer case will need to be removed, split and the detent ball removed from it. The shifters themselves will need to be bent to the required shape for youself.
At present I have contacted the USA about pricing and quantities so at this stage do not have any figures.
Let me know if you are genuinely interested in one of these kits.

What sort of time frame do you think we'd be lookin at? Im keen to order some crawler gears in the near future, and would be installing these at the same time.

Unfortunately I cannot answer that right now. I do not know how long this is going to take to organise as I havent heard anything back yet. I do not know what supply is like or anything at this stage. I will post and keep updating here as I know more.

It will work sweet.
You can keep it in low range but take it out of 4wd, I was going to do it but I sold the zook before I got a chance.

It makes a huge difference IF you can disengage the front when you've got two lockrights and try to turn on hard, grippy ground.
The trouble is its actually a real bastard to get it out of 4wd into 2wd once the driveline winds up a bit, and even if you try to switch before you get to the corner its usually allready wound up enough to jam it up and make it really hard to shift.
My twin stick is taking a flogging from this and it getting a bit sloppy, although its a different design, more like the toyota twin sticks:

another stupid q. I uderstand you would have to stop, gearbox in neutral to select 4wd yes? would you have to do the same to pop it 'out' of 4 into 2wd? Would the t-case have to be put in neutral for either of the selections or is it a matter of only moving the one stick?

Sierra transfers can be shifted on th fly from 2 to 4 high range. you just put the clutch in and move the transfer lever between 2 and 4 as needed. Just always do it going straight ahead only. I've changed between 2 and 4 on gravel roads in mine at 80km/h no problem. Of course hubs locked
.
I presume no problem with low 2 to 4 would be encountered. of course moving then changing high to low is a big no-no!

Thats a hand throttle lever. It runs to either accelerator or carbie and gives you the option os using both feet on clutch and break and still take off using hand throttle.

Rightio this is the information I have so far. (prices in AUD)
If we order 5 or more of these I can get them here for approx $220 each. Individual items will be approx $250. This covers all fees and charges. This will include the top boot. This boot is not supplied with the shifter kit but I can get them elsewhere to be included with our order. This should then give us all required to do the conversion. I am told that there will be 10 of these available in around a weeks time. I need to get numbers in ASAP to be able to secure this lot or we miss out.
If and only if you are genuinely interested in securing one or more of these kits then please let me know by PM. Once I have final numbers or filled the 10 orders I will secure the kits. Once I get the nod that the kits are ready to ship I will ask for payment. Details will be PM'ed to all those on the list. I will be getting all kits sent to me as one package to save in freight. Once they arrive all parties will be notified. If you are local then you are welcome to pickup from me. For anyone further afield I am more than happy to post to wherever need be. I doubt this would cost much more to do so.
I will keep up to date on here in case anything changes.
Now its up to you, start letting me know!!!

how are you going to deal with customs ? being that it will be over $1000aus that will be another 15% plus the $50 to hit the enter key and an extra 2 week wait to get it all thru . or have you got a way around this ?
cheers jai
