What sorts of things would course complete failer of a swivel bearing?
Bearing was only replaced about 500kms ago.
Cage has completly fallen apart,
race has big chunks out of it.

Brother inlaw is a saleman for a big bearing company and is going to get it looked at for me. Will be interesting to see the out come.

To many high loads with equipment that was used for not its intended design purpose.Bearings are ment to spin not sit take huge loads and move through small arcs. What normaly happens is that you end up with large marks on the cup of the bearing from large loads in one postions over a long period of time .Add to this water and mud and the bearings fail pretty quickly.
