My front hubs seemed screwed (avm) one locked in 2wd and the other 4wd.
Once i have them apart and back together......Is there a way of confroming i am getting drive to the front wheels? (Short removing rear driveshaft).
Last time i was out i was told that on a rock step i was getting no drive out of the front wheels.

Front Wheel Drive?

Re: Front Wheel Drive?
A diff (without diff lock) sends drive power to the wheel (or hub) with least resistance or traction. Picture a 4wd with one front wheel in the air. It spins madly, the opposite front wheel wont spin at all.WHITS wrote:My front hubs seemed screwed (avm) one locked in 2wd and the other 4wd.
Say the left hub could not be moved and locked in to 4wd position, there would be no resistance at the left hub at all (as left wheel and axle are not connected), so the diff would only turn the left axle and would not turn the right axle
one unlocked hub = no drive to front wheels.
Sounds like once your hubs are fixed all should be sweet
