hey
i was just wondering how much body lift my stock NL 2.8td paj has.
i heard someone talking about it the other day saying this was the only model to have a factory lift.
but i cant work out how much, the mounts look the same as my NH used to?
i guess its handy to have 1 from factory because i have driver and passenger airbags so i cant fit my own.

cheers guys

30mm from factory. All they did was weld the mounts on differently so it doesn't look like a body lift. Easiest place to tell is in the rear wheel arch at about centre behind the wheel there is a flat part on the body that in the ones without the body lift basically sat on the chassis & with yours you'll be able to see under it clearly. Make sense... :?

The NL will have the lift as do NK and some NJ's.

Yes.

Any Paj with the 3.5V6 or 2.8td. I'm not sure about the NA 2.8...

Why do you want the body lift? 33's fit your shape without it......

Does yours have the flared gaurds?

I have 33x10.5 on mine and they fitted with no lift, and a friend has 33.12.5 on a NL with flared gaurds.

No scrubbing I don't think - well not enough to notice.

They are BFG muds also which are the biggest of the 33's, most only measure about 32 inch's.

Apologies for the partial hijack (still on topic tho' ) ... I have the 31"x10"x15 .. no scrubbing ... how much space is left with your mate who has the 33"x12.5"?

I drive an NJ V6 3000.

From the way the thread goes I am wanting to do a similar thing as Iceman ... my concern is not so much the height of the Paj but when I turn the wheel and just whether or not it will scrape the inside of the car's body.

Cheers!

no i just have the skinny GLX body nothing special, running 31x10.5x15 hercules tyres (ebay special) great tyres. and im looking for some new tyres for my paj.
what brand 33s are all of you guys and girls running,
i was looking at maxis bighorns on ebay 4 for $800 :) , but my mate is a mickey thompson dealer and reckons the mtz is a good tyre but its way over priced $1100( apprentice wages dont really cover proper tyres)

Cheers for help

Not much space is left with the 33x12.5 BFG muds. And that is with the 2.8 with the factory body lift. You'll be pushing it on yours Scolers.

I run BFG as well.

The Bighorns look ok and they are a good size too measuring 32.9 inch's. (for example 33 inch buckshot mudders measure just over 32')

Is it the size or the width? Because I managed to get 34.6x11.5 simexes onto my NL GLX without a body lift, I had a little scrubbing on the rear of the front arches. So I would have thought that 33s would be no problem. I am thinking of moving to 34 inch swampers(measure 33.6x9.5) as I want to remove the body lift that I did after I first fitted the simexes, hope they fit without the body lift.

Width is the issue for me.

I do have a 2" suspension lift but again my main concern is the width ... then again ... you can get 33"x10.5" OR 32"x11.5' ... and there's not much difference in price. The 33" x 10.5 will have no width issues but not sure about anything wider.

Me thinks I'll have to do some serious measuring!

Depends on the rims as well.

I run 33 x 10.5 with no rubbing and can run heavy chains without rubbing

I tried 255/85/16 half worn so about the same as a new 33 on landcruiser offset and they rubbed at the back of the front wheel arch without chains.
