hey guys
i just bought my first fourby and went down to the local tire power 2 discuss tyre options.
i mentioned that i wanted 33's and the guy i was talking 2 said that 33's would rub when i get any decent flex unless i was 2 put a suspension lift under it and recommended that i go for 31's
i have a budget of around 200 buks a tyre and any help would be greatly appreciated.

33s will fit with a bit of hammer work to the firewall in the back of the front guards.
Otherwise why not chuck on some 32s?

32's if there not that much more than 31's i'd atleast do 2in cab lift and massage the guards with a FBH also a 2in spring lift wouldn't go a stray

i have 33inch Mickey T ATZ on my 87 Lux
the only time they scrub is on hard lock with all the weight transfered to the front
I have a 3inch Body Lift and 1 inch suspension lift

I have 33s on my 91 hilux. they are great but you need to gain 4 inches to clear the guards either in the suspention or body or a combination and even then it rubs on full lock when driving off road. I would recomend going for 32-11.5-15's for ease and practicality.

Excuse the stupid question, but how do these other guys run 35's on their Hilux's?? Is it a combination of body lift, spring lift, RUF and panel massaging??
Cheers - Coxy

RUF with no bodylift and i clear 35s. except on hard hits with no bumpstops. minor gaurd massaging took place though on the firewall. but it will clear 35s anyway without the chop

You might be hard pressed anyway buying 33's new for $200 each. A good second hand set would be good for you. you will need to do a little massaging on the firewall and gaurd, but hardly any. I run 33's and had to that, but they still rub slightly on full lock and flex.
