I want to replace the rubber bushes in my rear upper control arms with heims. If I remember corectly it was pretty fashionable to do this a while back until people started to rip brackets from their chassis due to no shock absorbtion.
Does anyone know where I can get some and how much $$.
Are they a direct replacement or will I need shims??

(Yes I know they are probally illegal and I will crack my chassis with them)

Are they the same as Johnny joints, if so try BBMotorsports. I ran them in a previos Patrol I had and didn't have any dramas.

Why do you want to? The rubber Nissan bushes flex enough for 34' shocks so what do you you need heim joints for?

Jonny joints are a similar concept to heim joints but fit into standard Nissan control arms.

Righto it sounds like Jonny joints are what I had in mind - thanks for that.

Not sure on what you mean by 34' shocks - how much actual suspension travel is that??
In my gq with 4inch rear dobinson springs I needed to get longer shocks to suit the lift, but I also had to space my bumps because although I increased the spring length, I didnt gain 4 inches more travel (only half that), so its not like my bushes were rotating that much more than stock.

In the truck i am building I am running 14inch coilovers, so not only am I gaining a raised ride height (gonna aim for 2-4inch depending on event), sag length will also increase (gonna aim at around 60% sag). What this means is that my upper rear control arm bushes are gonna cop a hiding due to longer travel. So durability is the reason I seek to run jonny joints.

34" shocks are long f*ckers, it's 34 inches from eye to eye extended. I think they have about 16" of travel so the standard bushes should still cope with the coilovers. A few places (Like Snake Racing etc) make high flex bushes with a slightly softer rubber also but I couldn't tell the difference between them and standard bushes to be honest. Johnny joints do flex well but if you don't keep the grease up to them regularly they wear out pretty fast. I have a set of worn out ones in the shed that I couldn't be bothered rebuilding as the rubber bushes work so well.

just to let ys know, i run ranchos in the back of my modded ute, its got 1050 loong or there about lower arms with upper A frame, now the ranchos i run are 950mm extended, nissan bushes may be good for more flex, but i find my links are binding with all the twist, so the mounts arnt really wide enough,

so bushes may be ood for more, but factory mounts are not in my opinion,
