Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hey its been a while but im back and i now have a 95 model rv troopy i wanna fit 35's under. Have spoke to various shops and have varied answers.
i dont want to do bodylift if i dont have to!
i was thinkins of just a 3 inch lift would do it.
let me now what ya's reckon some pics of a troopy running 35s would be good.

3" enought for 35" .. could be .. I vote for 4" or SO with flat springs.

I found the best way to get 35's on my troopy was to unbolt the original tyres off, and then bolt the new ones on

nah seriously i have a 3 inch lift via springs and shackles and they fitted easily, the only barely touched the guard at the top so i put rear bump stops up front (slightly longer). The spring lift wont be necessary as it's your bump stops and up travel that dictate the tyre size. Depending on the individual truck you may have to wind your turn stops out on the knuckle if they foul the leaf springs on a 75. But mine didn't do that, they were pretty much just bolt on.

p.s. I also found that the rears fouled the inner guards and chassis rails slightly, but not bad enough to worry. spacers would help that, and there's nothing that a body lift would do to fix it.

I'm with milo - just bolt them on.

Make sure you run the correct offset rim (i ran landcruiser offset - rubbed very slightly on the rear inner guard/chassis rail but this is about the biggest std offset available AFAIK). On the front they might rub slightly in the top of the guard but it was never enough to worry me - only on max flex without swaybars). I was running no bodylift and reset std springs/shackles (~2" lift).

You'll probably have to wind the steering stops out a little to stop them rubbing on the springs at full lock.

Thats what I thought until I did major sidewall damage to my 35s from rubbing on the chassis in the rear. (I have a trayback)

Basically what I found was that once fitted you work out what is fouling and fix it. Then you get an extra little bit of flex and something else touches.
I have done a body lift to stop all body fouling, custom exhaust where it cuts throught the front guard (I had fouling on the extractors - turbo now but its tight with 3" exhaust), I am now looking at greater offset rims to stop contact with front springs (while maintaining max steering lock), steering and rear chassis.
The rear chassis problem will not be fixed by extended bump stops, it begins rubbing with a lot of inches clearance on the bumpstops.

It seems there is a lot of variation with how much modification has been needed by people fitting 35s on 75s.

With the rears rubbing on the chassis rails, did you grind back the tube that sticks out of the side of the rails ? I've got 33''x12.5 claws on my middy and on the front have no probs, but the rear they rub hard on the inner guards, I need rims of backspacing of about 60mm, 90ishmm is stock

Mate I've got 2 Troopies with 35's.....35x15.5x15 Claws also have a set of 33x15.5x15 MTZ's.
To get them on I did a 3" spring lift, 50mm shackles, Moved the front diff forward 1" and they went on.
They do still scrub under full articulation, but not to bad really.
The rear will need a bit of a grind on the shock mount pipe where it comes through the chassis to tidy up the sharp edges, just at the top of the rear wheel, but other than that......go for it

The red one had a springover, but it was just to high.....keep it as low as you can at all costs...
