Recovery points on '98 Rodeo.

If anyone has a suggestion where I should locate my front recovery hook on a '98 Rodeo I would be very appreciative.

The Bbar I have is a TJM Alloy, therefore (and obviously) it is not suitable to have snatching loads placed on it.

However the frame the bar attaches to doesn't have an obvious solution either. I have to mount the hook either below the subframe (not good for clearance), or to the side of the subframe. However mounting it to the side has it own problems... Due to the shape and construction of the TJM subframe access to the nuts behind the recovery hook is severly limited.

Has anyone some hints?

just put the hook under the bullbar mount, the clearance lost is not that big an issue... unless you are tackling things that will cause damage anyway

get the hooks from the wreckers off either a jackaroo or rodeo's front end

nope batteries are dead

under the bullbar mounts, at the end of the chassis rails, there are 2 bolts (the bullbar mounts around the chassis rails, 2 bolts on either side, 2 bolts underneath)

you will need some longer HT 8.8Tonne bolts

i might get some new batteries for the camera tomorrow and take a happy snap of it

I would still be interested to see a closer photo, but I managed to mount them in a spot where I was happy with them on the weekend.

Just got one more to go on the rear and it'll be complete. I will post a couple of photos myself when I get the chance.
