Leaking Deisel Tank

Well the long range tank in the GQ is weeping from two places along the seems after a couple knocks offroad.

Now they don't actually leak onto the ground but the area around the seam is always wet with deisel.

What is the easiest way to properly seal these leaks?? Do I have to empty the tank and remove it for welding or is there another method that is less likely to blow me up other than MIG weld a deisel tank?

Again it is not dripping only a very minor leak but will probably get worse if not fixed.

What are the options

Fill it full with diesel and weld it.

Failing that pull it out and fill it with water and weld it. Id leave a few days for ot to dry out again before filling with diesel.

Done mine the water way but had to do the fuel gauge sensor as well.

Wont blow up at all, Its the fumes that ignite. If your still scared do it at night when the temp drops.
Seen petrol tanks welded up when full of ulp. Seen empty ones Blow up liek a baloon after a little explosion.

And I have seen a dead bloke with a 4 inch piece of tank thru the middle of his forehead when he tried to do this himself and the thing exploded.
I have been to two sudden death jobs where tanks have exploded killing the welder.

Take it to a radiator place that specializes in repairing tanks. They will steam it to remove any fuel residue and then solder or weld it up.

I remove em' empty em', flush em' with water a bit and than sit it on the exhaust of a running car for a while to help remove any vapours.

Been welding tanks for years like this.
P.S. Always remove your fuel sender/ pumps.
I have seen a brand new LR tank blow up like a ballon when the smart person decided to weld a mount onto the outside after he fitted the fuel pump to it that was removed from the old tank. There was no fuel in tank and the fuel pump only had vapours in it but the tank blew out into almost a perfect ballon about 4 foot round. (Patrol Long Range) Not a square edge in sight left.
