Dodgy Patrol wheel studs?

Hi all,
Below is scenario which I hope never happens to me (I've got an '01 4.2 wagon).
Anybody else heard of this happening?
We have recently returned from a four week excursion into the centre which was essentially a great experience for newcomers to the 4WD tribe. We were travelling in a 2004 Nissan Patrol 4.2l diesel and it was in excellent condition. New All-terrain tyres, thoroughly serviced etc.
We came to grief travelling from Marree to Coober Pedy, about 80 kms out of Marree on a recently graded road which comfortably took 80+ kph - some loose gravel but little corrugation at that section. Rounding a gentle bend at about 80 kph, the rear right wheel â€
