What 31" Muddy???

Post by ferrit »

Time for new tyres... and i have absolutely NO idea what ones to get!

my last maxxis Buckshots lasted 40,000kms- cost me $160, but theyre $211 to replace in 31x10.5x15 now.

Maxxis Bighorns in the same size- $217 each from Fourbys + $30 a tyre to ship to adelaide + Fitting and Balancing...

So im looking at a lot of the more mainstream brands now...

All 31x10.5x15LT

BFG Mud Terrain: $280-288 a corner
Cooper STT: $264-278 a corner
Cooper ST: $248 a corner
Goodyear MT/R: $245-258 each

The BFG is out because its just too expensive

The ST is out because its an AT, not an MT.

And now i have NFI what to go for between the MT/R and the STT!

Ive heard good and bad reports on MT/R mileage, and have heard good reports on STT mileage, but they suffer a bit from the hard compound in terms of road grip...

Advice?

Ive done a bit more research and found some more prices too....

Toyo Tranpath M/T's : $238 Each
Kumho- Old MT (834 Road Venture) $204 each
Kuhmo - New MT (KL71) $240 each
Mickey Thompson: MTZ- $268 each
Mickey Thompson: Radial Claws: $268 each

Claws! Except im told they dont wear well on tar, are noisy as hell, and are REALLY scary in the wet!

Joizuz Ferrit, talk about spread th luv.....

I can understand th Bias claws will be low mileage and very ordinary in th wet onroad but I've heard a few ppl say th radials are good.

I still reckon MT/R's tho...
6" GQ, 37" Treps, that is all.....
