second hand or new head

I have a 2lt with a cracked head im trying to work out the best option to replace it. I want to put a 3L cam in it as well ( better torque curve ) I can get a second hand 3L head with cam forr $550 3 month warrenty or a new bare head $600 second hand cam $150, how much to get the cam and every thing set up. I would like the new head but money is tight any advice would be great
