1HD-T cylinder head

I'm posting for a Cruiser Head here in Canada who has a JDM 80 with a 1HD-T which has warped the cylinder head (confirmed by his shop). They checked the head for cracks and there are none. Before taking the head off they did a compression test and it came across at 500 on all cylinders. So they are thinking they may plane the head but do not have the specs on the minimum thickness. The warp is .014". Apparently minumum head thikness specs are not in his shop manual. So, if anyone can give us the minimum head thickness measurments that would be much appreciated. If that doesn't work for him perhaps some recommendations of good shops selling reconditioned or new heads could be in order. Thanks in advance,
John

If you have a 14 thou bend, no point machining it as it will be bent through the cam tunnel. It will have to be staightened then machined or binned.
I will look for min thickness any way.

I dont think it matters, there is no chamber, just different thickness head gaskets...sounds throw away inless you can machine the cam tunnel too...

Thanks for the reply Andy. Can you recommend any sources for a used, reconditioned or new head which won't break the bank.

There is or was a 1HD-T on Yahoo japan - was at about 1200 cdn last I checked - for the whole engine. Best I could do is get you a 1HZ - and you could just add your turbo to it.
I'm in Ottawa by the way.

Louis

Thanks for the input guys. BTW Louis, I didn't expect to see you lurking here as well. Bloody small world. I'll pass that info about the e-bay listing on to Jinzuke on MUD. Cheers, John

Sheldon and Greg and THE Canadian Cruiser and parts importers, if they can't help you, nobody can.
you might also try Wayne Smith
