Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I'm currently trying to decide on my next set of MTs. They'll be used as a DD as well as in really thick, slick, goopy, clay mud.

I've previously had a set of 31x10.5 Bridgestone Dueller MTs on the Lux but they wore out really quickly. Worked well in the mud while they lasted but were quite slippery on our roads over here.

Currently I have on a set of 31x10.5 Maxxis Buckshots. These work much better on our blacktop than the Duellers did but are crap in our mud conditions. At low speeds the mud just piles up on the tire makin hill descents in mud scary as... They just dont seem to bite into our mud.

The choices I'm lookin at in a 32x11.5 R15 are as follows:

Maxxis Bighorn
Hankook Dynapro MT RT03

I'm not looking for all out performance in the mud that say a bogger gives but a good all round tire.
I've had a search of the forums to see what others think of the Bighorns.

Anyone with mud experience feel free to post your thoughts on these tire choices.

Radial Claws.

Depending on what sort of miles you're doing daily. They'll wear quicker than a MT and not as good on wet tar, but in clay.

i'll second the radial claws.

personally i found em good enough on wet tar (better than what i've used before, including some BFgoodrich products).

Can't get them over here unfortunately. Need a new set of tires within the next week so importing them is outta the question. I can get Maxxis Mudzillas but dont like the onroad performance of those tires.

If you have chance to found/get General Grabbers MT .. are my recomendation.

By far the better MT tire that I ever owned ..

x 3 on the Radial claws.

Ive taken mine off the patrol on the moment and i can say they stick better on road than my all terrain coopers (road tyres)!! these slip & slide everywhere in the wet on the stockers compared to the claws.

Truxxus are good.

Pretty much it was between the Bighorn and new Hankook MT

After seeing the tyres in person and reading a bunch of net reviews I went with the Bighorn. The lugs were deeper and voids further apart than the Hankooks. Just gotta massage the Lux a bit to fit these 32x11.5 r15 tyres that are mounted on 8" rims with a 3.75" offset (1" further out than stock).

The dealer gave me a bit of a discount on them as well as only 2 other trucks on the island have them on and they dont go in mud so the dealer wants some feedback from me on how they perform offroad.

It took quite a bit of weight to get 2 of them balanced for some reason.

kreepy crawlers only come in 35" and up so too big for me at the moment. Would have really liked to put them on tho. Might go that route if I ever lift the lux enuf to fit em.
Mudzilla's are really popular over here but not impressed w their streetability/wear rate on heavier vehicles or the fact that they dont seem to work too well reversing in mud or stopping on wet tarmac.

Test fit the 32s tonight and have quite a bit of trimming to do. Our sidesteps have different end caps than the Oz spec luxes as the luxes for this market didnt come with front mud flaps so will have to trim quite a bit of that.
