I havent done this myself but I would assume the F and 2F have the same mounting holes and you could grab an alternator bracket from a wrecker, maybe even grab a second hand alternator while you're there. Then give it to a sparky to recondition, fit and wire and you're done with it. You'll need a warning lamp on the dash too and your amp gauge wont work anymore but it would mean you'll never have to worry about repairing/finding bits for the old generator setup again.

Like I've said I havent done this but surely someone on here has?

Dont bother reconditioning the second hand alternator, get it running first. They are easy enough to pull in/out

Were all "F"engines fitted with generator?

post a wanted 2F alternatror and bracket and see what comes up
