I'm about to pick up a bare Jimny frame for 15$ today (gotta love eBay

).
Now what to do with it ? I thought about building a mid engine buggy using some FWD automatic drivetrain and maybe some MK/MQ axles
Any other ideas ?

Supercharged V6 with CVT auto. Always wanted to build one of those!

The frame turned out to be just a 6 month old one changed against a new one under warranty by Suzuki because of a stress crack at the front panhard rod bracket. So rewelding and reinforcing and ready to go

Or you could take it to Simsmetal, cash it in, buy some tube and do it the easy way.
Trying to make a chassis to work so far outside its parameters (mid mount engine or FWD running North South) will cost you more and take you longer than just building a buggy.
Coily mounts are handy for conversions on leafies though.

Yeah, you might be right. I'm still debating with myself. Maybe it'll just end up as a funmobile for my kids to play with. Throw some Sierre engine in and Sierra axles with homemade links, give it a buggy body and go for it. I just built a complete Sierra to play with with just parts laying around on the shelfs in my shop and discovered that I could build another one or two with the remaining parts
