Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Anyone changed theirs on a 3L?? I have to do both my front and rear at the same time. Both are leaking

I have done a front before so no real dramas there, I know I need to remove transfer case, gearbox and clutch/flywheel but, was just wondering if anyone knows of any difficulties/problems that i might have?

You will need to remove the sump as well, the aluminium seal housing has studs on the bottom that prevent the housing from being removed without the sump being dropped. Go genuine with the seal, the aftermarkets just dont last. They are big, pretty easy to install. If you have done seals before, it will be pretty easy, RTV sealant is your friend.

Do the front crank first, but dont remove the flywheel. Get a piece of 25x25 tube, and drill it for some bolts to screw into the clutch mounting holes on the outer edge of the flywheel. This tube gives you a firm lock on the motor to remove and then re-torque the front pulley bolt. You'll need to remove the plastic timing cover shroud as well, while there, inspect the camshaft seal also. Doing the front crank seal will require removal of the timing belt.
