I doubt it. you probably would not be able to get it complianced, engine conversions generally have to be a newer engine into an older chassis to be complianced. if you HJ61 is low km and in good condition, you could just about swap it for an older turbo 80, they are available under 20k. your other alternative is an aftermarket turbo on a 1HZ 80, th at will make more power and be more driveable than a factory 12H-T.

Mate i sold my HJ61 (89 Sahara) bout 4 weeks ago. finding a turbo diesel 80 was a challenge as they seem to be a rare breed here in brizzy. But found a really good one stock as, that had been looked after, 320 000k, Motor, Injector pump everything rebuilt bout 30k ago (dropped a big end most likely) and i bought it for $13.500. Since then have put 5" coils and 305x70 muddies on it and its a dream to drive!!! Mate it really is a step up in the world, Tone of torque, great power, better fuel economy, Handling, flex, brakes (it stops!!!!!). As much as i love/d my old 60 ide never look back!!! Just go a Turbo 80 and put the couple or grand u would spend on the 60 into a few mods for the 80!!!!!
My 2c
