gday guys

just bought a set of 30x 9.5's for the zook,

first of all. for all the cheapys, how did you make wheel flares to suit? and do you even need them on the 30" tyres?

Also, will 30x9.5 fit under a standard swb zook?

only asking as i have a body lift kit coming, but wont be for another 2 weeks, and want to try them. tyres arriving on wed..

Anyone know of someone that can fit a body lift blocks in the south gippsland area?

Whether you need flares to cover your tyres will depend on the offset of the wheel more then the tyre.

As for the flares do a search on Bunnings flares or Garden edging. This is simple a 150mm wide strip of plastic sold at gardening shops as garden edging, simple and cheap when rivotted or screwed into the underside lip of your current guard. Mine cost me $7 for the whole job. I cut the strip down the middle so mine are on 75mm wide, I think it looks a lot better then the extra wide full width ones.

Will the 30's fit, once again depend on the wheel and offset, with a bit of seem bashing and cutting of the bumper mount they will fit but the will rub like a bitch when you drive it.

I sell Body Lifts for Sierra's, make sure you get the female bolts rather then cutting the studs or anything. Suzuki's are on the harder vehicle to actually fit the blocks to due to the fixed body studs, just means you have to lift the body further off the chassis. they actually sell it in 75mm, 100mm & 150mm variants. I bought the 100mm wide one as I am going to need about 60mm of flare extension, and it gives me a bit more material to use to fix on the "inside" of the wheel arches/flares. For your application I would definetly go the 75mm though. whole roll cost me $24 bucks from bunnings.

What about the likes of a 'bought flares' you can buy? (like you would buy from a 4WD accesory shop). Anybody used these, or are they just too expesnive for a silly little piece of rubber?

Yeh I use the side mount rubber flares from Qld Diesel. Looks better in my opinion and is legal as its not sharp edged plus it just bends away when against walls etc. offroad. Only cost about $70 to do the whole car.

Excelent, I spend too much time in that shop, might have to check it out.

I've got Flexy Flares on the X90, they do the job and actually look good.

Went to QLD Diesel Spares. $13 a metre for the black soft rubber flares. $65 and the Sierra is covered .

They look allot like the one's Squik has on the X90 above. They have a hollow section on the outer flange, so I can stick in some wire if rigidity was desired, however I think not.

i got some factory style flares for my vit. a bit hard for sierra's so the pics are for the vit guys.





this is my mate's sierra with 75mm rubber flares ont he sierra wide track flares.

I have just got bunnings garden edging for my flares!

SiKiD_01 do you have any picks of the back of that sierra? I'm gunna do exactly what he has done with his back wall! But havn't been able to get picks of a finished one finishing where it does!(Thats where mine will go!)
