TB42 and TD42 share the same bellhousing pattern?
Was told they are the same but just want to make sure, as found a tidy petrol auto that i want to put a turbo diesel in.

Cheers

Different bellhousing.
Cant remember whats different though. Maybe just missing a bolt hole, but not sure.
Bogged should be able to chime in with a 100% correct answer.

The guy i work with swapped out his shot diesel for a petrol engine.
Said it bolted right up, but dosen't hurt to double check.

Do 89 patrols come with rear disc brakes?
Forgot to check.

Dx trim grade may have drums, some i've seen have discs.

All ST and higher will have discs on read.

mines an 1988 tb42 st disc to disc

i was told by a mate of mine <mech> who worked for arb sourthern dandyenong thats the td42 and tb42 bolt strasight up ,

but im thinking that he might have it in mind that you unbolt from the back of the bellhouseing leaveing the bell houseing on the back of the motor, im not overly to sure

but if its just as easy to drill and tap a hole id rathere do that :)

its not a different starter position, it is one hole that needs drilling and tapping. i have done it twice now.
