Hi Guys Im new here but i was after some info, I currently have a GQ Nissan patrol but I am looking at purchasing a 2003 model GXL 100 series cruiser with a 4.7L V8 and auto transmission. I was after any information, good or bad regarding this set up for which I should be considering. I have also noticed the car has quite an obvious lean towards the front ie the car does not sit level. I have noticed this on other 100 series but not on all of them? Would the car I am interested in have coil shocks or leaf suspension and can it be levelled out? Is there any thing I should know about the engine? major defects etc?
Thanks for your time,
DaveH

it will be coils all round and the lean on the front is because it would be independent front suspension. to fix it you can wind the torsion bars up or lift it properly.

cheers mark

The vehicle in question has the IFS front end, so torsion bars in the front and coils in the rear. The IFS lacks the travel of a live axle like your GQ, and you can't lift them too far without causing other problems. When people lift the rear the "door stop" rake on the vehicle is even more pronounced.

No other major probs I can think of, checl the service history and be prepared for a large service invoice for the 150,000km service (timing belt, etc).

May have stiffer rear suspension for towing too..

They sit fairly flat from factory
