coily wheel bearings

hey all
i'm going to replace my front wheel bearings on my coily sierra on the weekend and i was wondering if anyone could give me the part number of the bearing kit. also are the bearings different to the leaf sprung sierras?
any help appreciated.
another thing, how long should you expect them to last? i know things like driving in mud, bigger tyres effects their life but how long should they be lasting? im sick of having them replaced so i'll try replaceing them myself this time.

hey,
yeah the seal that comes in the kit is different from a leafy, not to sure bout the bearing, cant remember.... i got my kit from CBC bearings, wasnt very $$ bot very hard to do either...

Hi Lj,
Coily front bearings are nothing like the leaf models at all. First of all, you need a special socket to remove the nut that holds the bearing in the hub which you can supposedly buy from Suzuki (I made a tool out of a large washer, a piece of steel tube and some high tensile steel bolts which I then welded to a one meter piece of angle iron so I could get leverage) and then you'll need a hydraulic press to get the old bearing out and to get the new one in.
They're not adjustable like the leaf models are but they need to be tightened right up (REAL tight) so they don't move.
As for how long they last, my car gets used mainly for 4 wheel driving and I've changed both sides twice in 100 000 kays. Less often than the rears though. You'll know when to change them because they hum really loud around corners when they're rooted.

I've had my car nearly a year now and ive been through 4 sets.
. The workshop that did the roadworthy when i bought it put the two piece leaf sprung bearings in it. I'd only had the car about two weeks and the wheel just about fell off. I dont know what sort of damage this has caused to the bearing seat so i want to check it myself this time. I work in a CNC workshop so i'll make that tool and we have a press too.

special tool..... i just used a punch to undo the lock ring! i thought the hardest part was get the screws out that lock it in place.....
