Looking into a set of tyres for my comp ute, and was hoping for some feed back on performance in mud, cut resitance etc..

Thanks
Daniels

Edit, its for a winch challenge truck, outback challenge etc.

One you haven't mentioned above that is worth a look is Procomp Xterrains. I have just gone to these in 15x37's, haven't used them yet but the majority of people I ahve spoken to like tham for winch challenge events.

Have competed in trucks on ET2's and Q78 Swampers and I would go the ET2's over the swampers, mainly as they seem to be better ar speed and better in the sand than swampers.

By the way why not the centipedes in 36.5" rather than 35's?

INTERCO is the onlyy comp tyre ya want.

I've run Boggers and now run Bias Claws.

BOGGERS ARE BETTER!!

I'd say ya choices are Super Swamper, Super Swamper SSX, Bogger or Irok.

Irok and boggers need a heavy vechile to work better.
Swampers are god on lighter vechiles.

IMHO.

P.s. love the Micky T claws!

I already have the 35"s and was hoping to see how they stack up in comparission.

Thought about Pro comps too, Thought I would leave it under the other selection for peopls personal input.

Thanks

If you can justify the $$, then go the BFG Krawlers. Of the tires you've listed, they're the only ones you'll see regularly on an offroad buggy. Plus their compound is damn near unbeatable in the rocks.

Just mention that they don't like to hold onto the rim. You'll need beadlocks - preferably internals. And the sidewall isn't all that tough. They're surprisingly good in mud too!

I've now run my 37 Treps on 6 day drives and one 4 day w'end trip. They dig hard in mud, and form well at low psi over rocks, ruts. The side cutouts dig into the ground also at low psi. Onlookers have told me that they are the most tractive tyre they've ever seen..!!! The Treps have stood up well to Vic High country shale and mud with little scars and no chunks. On 17 inch beadlocks @ 12 psi you can push them hard into fast corners with no understeer. Easily the best 'all-round' tyre on the market.

Have you tried anything else? Only ask this because I've never been happy with claws other than the comp compound on rock.

How do they compare to a Simex ET or Silverstone Xtreme for digging in thick clay?

Also, what size do the 37's physically measure? (prefer dimensions on a 8" beadlocked rim if anyone has them).

These are a heavy sidewall tyre so they require low psi. As good as an ET2 in thick clay, probly better. I used them as low as 3 psi for wet clay/rock hillclimbs.
Prior to beadlocking, I had these tyres on a 17X9 wheel (no beadlock) and the height at 20 psi was right on 37 inch

Jeebas, thats pretty impressive then. Would they have enough sidewall flex to bag out and work on a Hilux, say 2000kg max all up weight?

Having never seen a Trepador and not even been sure if we can get em...does anyone know what tyre / rim / beadlock size combo is required to meet the 36.5" max tyre diameter for winch comps?

I think they will work ok on a 'heavy' lux.
Just went and checked my Treps (37 12.5 17 on 17X9 beadlocked Rockcrawlers) and they still measure 37"
