Hi Guys

My name is Dave and I am a director of Locktup4x4 International, Ruff has kindly allowed us to introduce ourselves on this forum and offer you the chance to participate in our first of many (hopefully) Product Giveaways!

I personally have been importing parts in from the US from various companies for several years for the exact same reason many of you have or have considered doing that is getting quality parts at a more realistic and affordable price to make our hobby that more enjoyable.

It had been getting a little to big for a one person show so a mate of mine Chris who is also a director and is a guru with web site and business running said lets get this happening on a larger scale and make it more Australia wide. I have been fortunate enough to know Jason (Locktup) for going on 3yrs now and with his knowledge and reputation in the states and his contacts we decided to make him a director and he is our man on the ground in the US making sure we get all our products and making sure we can track down products that you may want and keep good relations with our US vendors.

Our main goal is to bring you the parts you want at a more realistic price than seen before in Australia we hope to be able to keep our prices low enough so that you wont have to try and get the products yourself and have to worry about warranty etc that is our job.

What do we get out of this well we are not after huge profit if we can make enough money to keep ourselves in parts for our own 4wds then we will be happy, this is so we can get more and more people into the sport we love not just the people with high incomes and some more capable 4wds.

Anyway enough of the bullshit lets get down to the Free Product Giveaway!

What is up for grabs is one of 2 items the winner can decide what product they want.

The 2 items are Trail Gear Dual case adaptor 21 spline or a set of Trail Gears 4.7 Low Range 21 spline Transfer Gears. Both to suit a Hilux.

All you have to do to enter is go to our web site and sign up to the mailing list (make sure you give us your username also put it in the name field like this) Dave (bulldogy) all your info is totally confidential and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Then post in this thread a small pic of your 4wd and what and why you want one of these products and at the end of November we will announce the winner and you will have your free Product sent to you before Xmas with enough time to get it fitted and ready to wheel for the Xmas break if you get one!

Thanks for all the people who have already been to check out the web site and for the orders we have received already we really appreciate your support and will do our UT most to support you guys with more giveaways from our other vendors in the future and keep the cheaper prices.

Thank you all and to Outer Limits for allowing us this thread we will sponsor Outer Limits anyway we can in the future.

The Locktup Team

Wooot Woot!!! first one hopefully :D

Well guys, i can't say that i deserve to win any more than any of the other guys on here, but i'm building a truck that should be unique, stands out, drives hard, and is something that i've always wanted. I'd love nothing more than to have your name among the rest of the stickers on my truck as it crawls (hint hint ;) ) up the trails.

I like the idea that you've decided to run with. You seem to have found a great big hole in the market and a great opportunity. It's nice to see a business owner who embraces the ability to buy from the states, as it will save your customers plenty of time, hassle and of course money.

Here's the start pics of what i hope will be a standout fourby

Why do I want one of the products you have on offer? Because I busted the other crawler gears I had. So lets see if the crawling package you supply can stand up to the test for years to come
Also there isn`t many people in the Australian 4x4 world that don`t know of or about my hilux. It is one of the cleanest well used 4x4`s getting around today. No it doesn`t get trashed like some but it does get put though its paces from time to time in all types of driving landscapes.

Can you think of a better place to have one of your parts residing in the future then under this hilux?

Hey there, I have subscribed to your site already yesterday before reading this so I should I send you a PM with my real name so you know who it is? I think you will already, I inquired today about the Marlin Crawler Box for the Chain Driven Transfer cases like on the new Tacoma's in the US. I really really want to fit one of these to my hilux so I can then move on to getting 34" Super Swamper LTB's in 34/10.5x16 which I have my heart set on and the crawler box will make it an absolute weapon offroad.

And the fact that not many new hilux's have been modified to this sort of level yet, if financial all goes well I would like to make it one of the most capable new models around.

Heres a pic of here as she currently stands-
Image

Running a 3" front and 3" rear Foam Cell Suspension setup
285/75x16 Maxxis Buckshots
ARB Winchbar
240 Blitz Spotlights
TJM Front under body guard aswell as the transmission under body guard
Lengthened brake lines for full flex
Extended diff breathers
Tinted Windows
Flares
Snorkel
ATS 4x4 Black Checkerplate covered Sliders going on in 2 to 3 weeks -included the checkerplate being powder coated)

Should look like a tuff model, might even space the front up another 20mm.

I would love to win the Crawler Box if possible and be the first New Hilux with one fitted. If I need to drive interstate to get it done, then so be it.

The D4D diesel and auto, tend to run away from me a little in 4x4 low due to the auto's 1st gear being not as good as the manual's 1st gear ratio and the taller tyres.

PM me if ya need more info, and thanks for the opportunity, I hope all goes well for ya with the new business venture. Oh, By the way, Ive been speaking with AllPro in the states on the Custom Taco's or TTORA forum, I cant remember which one it was about trying to get some of their new front bumper's built for hiulux's like mine, I told them you can use mine as a template if they like and trade my ARB bar to them if they want for it. Anyway, enough of this babbling on.
Catch ya round.

Well what can I say

The only thing I havent busted is the gear sets but its only a matter of time it would be good to run the 4.7 and rebuild the rear transfer.

Buying from the states is a pain in the A55. This setup should be good! having a good outlet with resonable prices and good product to boot will be a treat.

The hilux is known to most in Australia and said to be "the best modified hilux in Australia if not the world".Thanks Mark Allen.

I'm always on the lookout for new products and always ready to recommend a tough hilux product

Mine might not look like a hard core but i would love to make it capable so that at the end of the 9-5 days we can hit the trails and know that it will climb them hills with the gear set.

Well might as well fit some trail Creeper gears while I am finishing the $Runner :D It will save me having to pull the t/case out again latter when I can afford them

This is the current state of the $runner, still allot to do but it is getting there. Spend too much money so far so getting something for free it always good :D

Thanks Dave for supporting the 4x4 community and a Perth guy as well. About time us Perth guys had some decent service .

This is my truck.1987 Hilux, 4y motor, 33's.
Alot is still in the works.
I am trying to get it ready to compete in the superior all terrain challenge (modified class)next year. :D
I just finished putting highsteer in it. Trailgear of course. And manage to do a swap for a shortened tray.
I would like a set of 4.7 gears so i can start to crawl over things alot better and hopefully stop breaking things because of speed.
It is also great to see someone out the supporting the industry and promoting good products :) and bargains too.
Thanks Greg

Totally stock except for 2" suspension a 87 2.4 diesel dual cab, just got it no rego and stuffed engine so now it's up for a rebuild, I plan on running 33 or 35 tyres so I'll probably need the gearing more than anything but I wouldn't complain even if I only got a sticker.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

great to see you guys getting in on the US importation stuff.. As a subscriber to petersens 4wheel I often see a few things on offer in the US that I wouldn't mind being able to purchase over here..

I know I dont have a hilux but couldn't resist posting a poser pic anyway. I will be buying some bilsteins off you guys as soon as i can afford it (5150's) due to your competitive pricing offered online. I have already had a good look at your site and teh products you offer and wonder if you are contemplating adding more gear from the states that isn't available here at such good prices.. eaton elockers, detroits for example.

thanks for the chance to win and all the best in the future..

Why do i want these products? as an apprentice i struggle to keep up the cash flow to keep my truck going in the best shape it can be in and as i use it as a daily driver it does go through a lot of k's so i don't have to cash to modify it. other than a few little mods i would love to get my truck to a stage where i can join a few little comp's and get out there and have some more fun.

When i got it

well...id like some gears for my cruddy lux as im currently rebuilding it as it had abit of a mishape that may have been avoided with gears! more engine revs means no carby petrol flood n stall.....with the gears the car would have stayed at a crawl even tho the engine was reving harder..! end result of no gears!...driving home in a busted ass truck after spending all nite getting it back n trying to get it to run!

Image

PICK ME! im poor...so so poor..
i cant even work out how to use the computer properly n have big pictures like everyone else!

Well thought I would enter, as it would be cool to win some stuff. It’s a great opportunity to get some new gear for the lux .As the trans case is the most standard part in the lux driveline and with the breaking on hills and in general up the creek it would be good to win a set of these gears to help the lux handle better in the bush and crawl things with ease. Thanks for the opportunity and all the best with this business venture

Great idea guys and thanks for giving the opportunity for someone to win some great gear! Here's my piece of junk. First an old wheeling pic and second a pic of close to how it stands now.

Image
Guess what it's another white hilux!

At the moment it's sitting in the carport with a broken gearbox. Broke a tooth off the gear on the input shaft heading out of Dargo a few weeks ago. I've got a few plans for it over the summer like crossover steering and finish the tray off. Some reduction gearing would be cool to put in while the gearbox and transfer are out. Hint hint!

Hope the venture goes well guys.

Thanks
Dave
