anyone use wheel spacers on there sierra are they worth the $$$$. what size is best and do they cause any problems

then increase your track which can be advantagous for various reasons, they can allow you to fit a larger tyre on comfortably with the same offset rim blah blah blah, plenty of people have used them on zooks and pretty much every 4wd.

They can come loose and are not legal for road use, you are best to use them off road only but know plenty of peolle who leave them fitted which is ok provided you regularily remove the wheel and re tension the spacers

^^^^^^^ said you would be better off getting offset rims such as standard F100 rims which are the same PCD as a sierra, a 15*7 F100 rim will give you more offset and allow you to fit a 31" + tyre or buy a speedy / rox sunrasia type rim to suit with a higher offset

i would replace all wheel bearings as a minimum as well

Are they worth the $$$? No, they are more expensive than having your existing steel wheels modified for more offset.

The biggest disadvantage is that they are illegal. (sure, lots of things on our cars might be illegal) but having spacers could void your insurance if you were involved in a claim.

In terms of what size is best - well, the smallest spacer (or amount of offset) you can get away with. Run just enough offset to prevent the tyres contacting the chassis/springs. any more than necessary just increases the stress on bearings and messes with the handling for no good reason.
