does anybody know the pro's and con's of these auto's. they are out of gen2 V6 4runner's.

they have a hydrulic actuated transfer case.

Does anyone know how strong they are, have heard of the clutch packs in the transfer giving out, but not sure if that was just due to excess heat??

any opinions appreciated.

P.S this will be behind a 1jzgte.

They are pretty strong JD (ozzruner) used to run one behind a 5L windsor motor i think he ran it for approx 50,000ks then he went to a manual but the box was still going ok when he swaped it out.

The only downside is the auto and tcase are one unit, but the good news is Jim from inchworm has developed a conversion allowing it to go to a gear driven case and ultimately duals.

From memory a few buggies have been running this setup in the US just make sure it has a big cooler to keep it cool.
