Heres some "new" problems unearthed in Feroza throttlebodies
The Feroza was not idling at a consistent RPM and no matter what I did I couldn't seem to get it right, and with an auto it is @#$% annoying. So the time came to pull it off and have a look see.
First problem - there are actually two throttle return springs, one on the outside of the black plastic bobbin on the throttle shaft and another one hidden away inside the bobbin - a coaxial system. Guess which one was broken - yep the inside one that you wouldn't even know existed unless you checked a good unit.
Don't bother trying to get it all apart, it seems to be VERY firmly fitted and I suspect a real pig to reassemble with both springs in the right place. Spare throttlebody to the rescue.....
Second problem - blocked vacuum lines. two of the small lines on the top of the throttle body were blocked with crud - this is on top of one for the power steer idle up that I had cleared some time ago. This seems a common problem, a trip to the self serve wreckers showed that of four throttlebodies ALL had at least one blocked port.
So apart from the usual failed idle switch and sticking cold start valve there's another few things to put on your maintenance checklist.
I suspect many Feroza's are suffering from these port blockages.
