Which option to fix 89 LN61 4Runner

Hope this is tech enough! Bit of a 4wd noob and I will get local mechanic to do all work apart from regular tune.....
The opportunity:
89 2door 2.4l Diesel with aftermarket Turbo (arb sticker on it)
The Issue:
1) Timing belt done at 150K - now at >250K so due again.
2) The turbo is leaking oil from the circular seal (i think) which is the air compressor part, leaking onto road and over alternator which I just had to change over because of damage to it and regulator - $800 to auto electrician...
I think also contributing to a bit of smoke in exhaust.
A mechanic had a look a while ago and said was not really fixable....but I dunno?
Here are the options as I see them. Pls suggest the best way to go - cash is a consideration due to my first mortgage ........
A- Change timing belt & water pump & fix/replace turbo - is only a small turbo and no intercooler.
B- Engine changeover to 2.8l diesel - no turbo - apparently a bit tricky from the older type engine - if I can get a 2.8l diesel.
C- Buy Holden V6 conversion Kit, find engine and get changeover done.
D- Buy Holden V6 conversion Kit, find engine and get changeover done and get LPG conversion at same time.
E- least favourite option, trade in. I like my 4Runner!
Any advice appreciated - for mechanics as well - feel free to PM me. I am located bayside Brisbane - considering local BP mechanic or ARB mechanics, new to area.
