Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey guys,
Just in the middle of installing the 4.9 trail gear reduction gears...
all was going well, and was just assembling it now. about to close it up properly and decided to close it up and just check it goes together alright...

Anyway after closing it up, i wasnt able to get the shifter forks to move in the direction of the arrows ... the picture below is just a rough idea of how i put it back together... and the ball bearings and grooves and such, i dont own a camera...

When i took the output shaft out i was able to move the forks by twisting them a little... there wasnt any detailed information mentioned in the service manual or any other online documentation... wondering if anyone could confirm this is right / wrong...

As far as i understand the 2 ball bearings with springs behind them are just to give that clicking sensation when you move the gear stick

The Ball bearing in the middle is an interlock so that you have to be in 4wd before you go into Low Range....

now with the 4wd fork in 4wd, i can manage to bump the HI/Low selector around but needs alot of force, but when in Hi range cannot move the 4wd/2wd selector... however if you give it a twist it moves quite easily and you can feel the 2 positions... and once it has moved into 2wd the Hi/Low selector is locked... so the operation is working corretly just seems jammed is this usual, and you dont usually feel it with 400mm of gear stick hanging off the end?

Did you use the right ball bearings , you didn't use the one on the 4wd switch by mistake , this could be your problem but I've never had a problem with the shifter selector forks , Cheers Paul.

The 4wd bearing is slightly larger isnt it? if thats the one your talking about then it wouldnt have fitted anyawy.. thanks for the reply...
