doesn't really answer your question, but a mate of mine got a marine place to fabricate a canvas top that clips over the original sun roof.

The tops here in the US can be cranked shut by hand if needed. There is a cover between the switch for the roor, and the front dome light. The cover says "Sunroof." You can pop it off to access an allen crank screw. Then, in the tool kit in the rear door, nested in bhind the lug wrench and other items, is a crank shaped bit allen key.

I would think you guys had the same setup...?

there is a allen key thingy at the back (mid section betwwen front roof and rear roof) I'll try it out tomorrow.
I went to start ripping out the headlining at lunch time and after trying to shut the thing numerous times on the way to work,
Thought Id give it 1 more shot before rippin it apart, and the bloody thing decided to shut.???????? buggered if I know
so I knock off at 1 tomorrow and Im gunna rip it apart and try and get to the bottom of its mind of its own, will keep you guys posted
and again thanks for your assistance

They tend to accumulate a lot of dust/mud/sand and other crap up around the tracks. That's generally what stops them from working, it just binds everything up. I try to make sure I clean the tracks out fairly regularly and keep some silicon spray on the tracks, seems to have worked so far.

have cranked it shut and open after blowing out the tracks and silcon spray etc still not working . Im moveing soon so will leave it alone untill settled .
Then i pullin the succer out, pullin it apart ,n fixin the :bad-words: thing before resealing the whole thing
I will photograph and write the whole process for the site but will need some one to post the pics for me as I cant get them to work
Will not be done for a few weeks yet
