not quit shure if its the clutch as it seems to be stuck in gear you can push the clutch in and the it will still keep going and it won't change gear at all and the clutch is only 18mths old

any ideas

Actually, have you checked the cable isn't rooted?

Get a mate to sit in the car & push in the clutch. Follow the cable all the way round to the gearbox. Check everything.
Where is this ratte coming from?
inside the box? Or a loose guide on the cable

run my fingers over the cable seemed ok but when we started to take the box out found a split in the cable about 30cm long it kept closing up when there was no weight on it. so just looking you could not see it.thanks for the help boner
