steering problem with lift kit on mk

hi there all im wondering if anyone could help me with my little prob i have a 86 mk patrol ute with a 2 inch efs spring lift and superior engineering extended shackles and rancho rs 9000xl ajustable shocks and had to run 2 degree caster plates so tail shaft would line up and have plenty movement and now it steers like a b!!!H. i noticed that my king pins have moved and wondering if that caused it and if any one had any ideas to correct it please regards gurujosh

Get a wheel alignment and see wat your caster angle is with the wedges in, The caster wedges should only be in to correct castor not so the tail shaft lines up, also which way did you put the wedgae in, with the thick part at the front or back??, you caster should be about 2 to 3 degree's positve, i think to much positive caster will cause a shopping trolley effect??

thanks for your advice im having a c??t of a time with it and caster plates thick parts r two the front of the 4wd

Rid of caster plates, fix king pin preload, (they are prob buggered, nissan swivel hub seal tend to let water in but no out in my experience)
Hey at least the grease stays in there unlike yotas!!

I wouldn't be too concerned about te shaft angle, more if the front shaft clears the x-member, if not improvise.

Some people use tail-shaft spacer, this stresses output and/or input bearings. Others use a double cardigan joint, being MK it may already have one of these. I cut the member out and re-mounted 5-6" back. Plenty of clearance..
