Hi have searched but havent seen anything about what im about to do. My project is i am getting rid of the old rear bar, replacing it with tube and i have led tailights and a housing for them to go into the body rear corners like a ute style. Has anyone done this before? :? i have never seen it! Also i have inset the number plate (minitruckstyle) and new reverse lights. Does anyone know the legality of doing this?

there are regs about height spacing of tail/brake lights, visibility of number plates etc that need to be followed. what your saying sounds fine though.

Refer to the ADR's regarding placement of rear lights.
There was a thread in general tech about light positioning a while ago.

From that thread -

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/ ... i_dl1.html

http://www.comlaw.gov.au/ComLaw/Legisla ... 2FINAL.pdf

"Its somthing like be within 400 from the edges of the tray, not the whole light just part of it. Has to be at least 600 between them and no more that 1200 from the ground"

Just make sure any lights you use meet the Australian Standard
If they do they will have this logo on them somewhere (often cast into the lens covers)
