What sort of springs are guys with coilovers on GQ's and the like running?

I know ideally i should weigh the front and rear etc, but that's not going to be possible, or more so not practicable.

I'm looking at 2.5 inch shocks with 600lb springs. They'll be on a 60 series, lightened somewhat. No batteries in the front, just a highmount and light bar.
I'd suspect the front weight to be similar to a standard TD42 GQ.
Thoughts? suggestions?

Depends on stroke length and whether you are running dual springs.

The plan for my GQ is to run rates on my mains similar to standard coil springs ie around 300lb ish??!! And run tenders 'soft' to give me good sag??!! Dunno I think it will just come down to a matter of trialling different rates and lengths. The trade off of adjustability is testing time i guess - will be worth it in the end

600lb sounds a bit too firm to me
It would be hard for you to find a start point because leaves arent rated in lbs (are they??) Maybe look at what rates (traditional) aftermarket 80 springs people run

Maybe just find what spring rate gives you the ride height you want, put a zip tie or something on your shock shaft to make sure you are using all your travel (by pounding your truck like you were racing). Then drop the spring rates until you only bottom on big hits and g-outs
