Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I'm interested to find out if it's possible to cut the centres from 100 series IFS steel rims, flip them, then reweld the centre to give a similar offset to factory solid axle steel rims.

I've heard of this being done previously, but from what I can see, I don't know if it can be done.

Can anyone either confirm or deny this?

I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

Where did all the Hilux solid offset steel rims go? It seems there is more of those Hiluxes left compared to the rims, originally 5 per Hilux.

If your building trailers, then a wider axle would be cheaper.

But if you are doing a one-off, I have seen rims drilled-out and the centers moved and re-welded to change the offset before.

The reason I ask regarding these IFS Cruiser rims is because I'd like to run a set of these on my solid axle 105 series with some play tyres.
I believe I require 16 inch rims due to clearance issues with brakes etc. I also like to do things a little different to what everyone else does.

Future trailers will run these rims as I like the look of them (Personal preference I suppose), and as the axles are all custom made to order, the offset doesn't have any detrimental effects. The only variation is if someone wants rims to suit their tow rig - not a big drama either way.

So, does anyone know if these rims are capable of being flipped?
My main concern is that they're not configured similar to sunraysia's etc where the centre is welded to the raised section in the middle of the rim. On these rims, the mounting face is welded to a recess on the front mose edge of the rim.
My understanding at present is that I won't be able to cut the centre out and reweld it unless I want a massive offset which will result in a very deep rim.

Any thoughts?
