Hey all,

I have a 94 classic with B/W transfer and the viscous coupling is locked solid again i have a LT230 in a wrecked 95 disco, Do the transfer cases easily unbolt from the auto's (ZF's) without taking the auto out, or is it just easier to swap the whole lot over, ive just had a new kickdown cable and an auto service done and my autos in good nick so i want to to keep it in there. or should i just try and find another viscous coupling? i know about having to modify the centre console for the lt230 also.

I have been told i should remove the front shaft as it will casue rapid wear, can i just leave it in the in the short term, i have replaced the tailshaft with a uni both ends style rather than the rotoflex aswell.

hey mate as far as I know you will need the front tail shaft for the lt230 plus the lever it should just unbolt from the back of the box from what I can gather will be doing a similar thing to my rangie just got to get my hands on a lt230 as I have everything else ;)

I had a rangie with a broken LT230 (1988 manual) and the transfer wouldnt come out without the gearbox, it wouldnt slide back enough to come off the input shaft. Not sure if the 94 or auto would be the same though.
